Why did my tame hamsters bite me?

They are 2 mates, and snowball is pregnant, but it is the boy that bit me blizzard, is it because i was handling cesar gourmet dog food and bologna *baloney* , and my hands smell like food>_<, it's okay i stil love em, but is that the reason?like i gave him a sunflower seed, and he aims for my fingers:( slowly though not aggressively , and he was sniffing my fingers, so i was like what, so he aims for them i move my fingers away, but i tried once again, and he drew blood! , is it because he thought my hands were food, btw atm they are eating meat, cesar gourmet grilled chicken dog food, bologna, and seeds and puffed hamster food, and purple cabbage, it's because i love em.
